Why does experience matter?
Between us, Susie and I have over 45 years of industry experience – a fact that sits at the very core of our brand promise: to help clients find their Woosah in a way that’s both collaborative and creative.
But why do we believe experience holds such weight?
Experience is worth something
The world of communications is evolving at lightning speed, with AI tools reshaping how we work and what we can achieve. These innovations are powerful, but they don’t replace hands-on, hard-fought experience.
Experience isn’t just about years served; it’s about the insight gained from working across diverse sectors and client types. This diversity is what sharpens our ability to ask the right questions, truly understand what a client is looking for, and craft solutions that are not only bold but exactly on point.
Problem solving is where experience comes out to play
Much of what we do in comms comes down to problem solving: navigating challenges, breaking through barriers, and smoothing out the inevitable bumps in the road. Experience gives you the muscle memory to handle all of that – skills honed over years of trial, error, and triumph.
It’s not just about the big, strategic ideas either. Knowing the most efficient and effective ways to deliver on the vision requires a deep well of experience. There’s a certain finesse in balancing big-picture thinking with tactical execution, and that finesse only comes with time.
Experience in understanding the human experience
One of the less obvious – but incredibly important – benefits of experience is the ability to navigate the human dynamics within brands and businesses. Working with marketing and communications teams is often the easy part: everyone speaks the same language. But what about the rest of the organisation and all those stakeholders that matter too?
Experience equips us to bring stakeholders along for the ride. It’s often about co-creation, fostering collaboration, and earning buy-in from every corner of the business. Because the best strategies and ideas don’t exist in a vacuum – they work when everyone involved feels ownership and alignment.
We might not look old enough to possess enough of it (!) but experience is what allows us to combine creativity and clarity, bringing a sense of calm to the communications chaos. That’s what it means to find your Woosah, and it’s why it remains at the heart of everything we do.
